The Polls Are In: Gold Cup Is A Must Attend, But Who Come Out On Top?

Adrenaline touches down in Delaware this weekend bringing the 70-degree, SoCal weather with them! Formally known as the Fall Invitational, this tournament has been rebranded as the Gold Cup to reflect the elite level talent that attends each year. The forecast shows perfect outdoor playing conditions and high level competition for a jam packed weekend of lacrosse. Nineteen different club programs are set to face-off on Saturday across seven different divisions. A shift in personnel will take place mid-weekend, adding 9 new clubs to the mix on Sunday. High powered programs looking to make a full weekend run include West Coast Starz and MadLax.
Talent from all over the US will be on display, not only via national rosters, but due to the variety of regional programs attending the event. PA, MD, OR, CA, IL, FL, MI, DC, DE, MN, GA and TX are among the states represented on the field this weekend. While there are still recruiting limitations in play on site, every game will be filmed by Nextpro and made available to players for their own personal use. Additionally, Adrenaline will send the film to every NCAA coach so they can watch games from the comfort of their own home! Check out the Gold Cup Saturday and Sunday schedules on tourney machine.
Not only is there a hunger to compete, but players are specifically looking for strong opportunities to play and get better. More importantly, they are looking for opportunities to get quality film. Players from Saturday who may or may not be playing on Sunday will stick around after game hours and converge with new players arriving a day early for their Sunday games to compete in the Elite Showcase. Players will be randomly assigned to a team based on position and earn another opportunity to get out in front of the camera. Twenty-four DIII coaches, including Amherst, Eastern and Swarthmore, will run point and guide these players to hopeful victory.
As we gear up for a weekend on the fields during an incredibly unprecedented time, we are grateful for the opportunity to get back out there safely. Sports bring all kinds of people together in the most positive way, and we can’t wait to see you all.
