Next weekend the Adrln Tropics U-19 team will take the field for the second time this summer at the Lake Tahoe Lacrosse Tournament in Incline Village, Nevada. The Tropics return to the tournament having won the championship three years running and this year’s squad looks just as ready to keep the streak alive. The roster consists of 26 NCAA commits with 21 of them headed to division one schools this coming fall. As usual the Tropics will also be receiving full Adrenaline treatment with brand new custom apparel and gear.
The U-19 team is coming off of a strong showing at the Vail Lacrosse Tournament where they fell short to a very talented Baltimore Crabs team that would move on to win the championship. The Trops will try to rebound this weekend with a championship at beautiful Lake Tahoe as the clear favorites coming in. The roster is made mainly of former WCS and Adrenaline All Americans as well as plenty of former regional Starz players who have come up through the Adrenaline system.
The team is stacked from top to bottom as usual so there’s no telling who will step up and have a great weekend, but it looks like there may be a few key guys to look out for coming in. At attack, Jimmy Yanes (Hofstra) and Jackson Lienhart (Bellarmine) are both coming off of good showings at the Adrenaline All-American game and should make a formidable tag-team behind the cage. The midfield features a deep and diverse group of players that should come out of the gates hot. Two Loyola bound players in John Duffy and Sammy Edwards look to lead the way on the offensive side of the ball but they will have help from Jake Schleppy (High Point), Mikey Giannapolous (Georgetown), and several other key players. The defense is looking stout with a number of talented poles like Adrenaline and Under Armour All-American Hugh Crance (Notre Dame), Jonah Swigart (Syracuse) and a few others along with goalies Mike Marinelli (Dickinson) and Hoyt Crance (Yale).
Across the board this is one of the most well-balanced Adrln Tropics teams in years and they will look to take home the hardware once again before heading off to their respective colleges. Adrenaline is excited to present this opportunity to some of the best graduated senior players in the west as a reward for all of their hard work and commitment. Stay in tune with the Adrenaline Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram and Twitter for updates throughout the weekend. For a look at the full roster and schedule see below.
