To the tournament that was scheduled, rescheduled, and rescheduled again… Here’s to a weekend of nothing but fun in the sun on the lacrosse fields! With 30 different boys programs and 23 different girls programs from all over the west in attendance, AFR has proven itself a battle ground for best-in-the-west bragging rights. The Regional Athletic Complex in Salt Lake City will play host to 110+ teams from AZ, CO, UT, CA, NV, WA, and WY. RAC is one of the most premier venues in the west, with mountain views, 16 natural grass fields (some with lights), and a short drive from downtown SLC and the airport.
Players will take the field Friday afternoon for the Utah Prospect Day. They will be lead through warm ups and some positional work before taking the field for scrimmages. Although some college coaches are on site to run the drills and coach the games, the exposure will extend beyond the fields as the games will be filmed. Not only will players be able to purchase the film to help build their digital profile, but all NCAA coaches will be given access to the games across the country. Players will join their teams the following two days for AFR tournament play. Each team will compete in three regular pool play games to determine their ranking for Sunday playoffs. Seven boys teams and six girls teams will walk away champions of their first official fall event. AZ Xtreme HS, Mad Dog 2023, LA Wave, and CLC are among the 2019 champions who are back to protect their title. Check out the full schedule on Tourney Machine!
