July 20th, 2015

This past weekend middle school and youth lacrosse teams from across the west made their way to Colorado Springs for the second of two Adrenaline Shootouts. The tournament follows the high school Shootout which took place a week before at El Pomar Youth Sports Park and, like its predecessor, the middle school and youth Shootout was a success! Teams from all over gathered to play across four different divisions ranging from 2019-2023 grad years. There was no loss in excitement throughout the weekend as teams competed in one of the best and oldest summer events that Adrenaline has to offer.

In the Gatorade 2022/2023 bracket the youngest teams at the tournament fought for a title. Chaos 2022 and Denver Elite 2022 dominated most of their competition, but Chaos would eventually handle Denver Elite 8-2 when they met in the championship. In the Machine 2021/2022 bracket Denver Elite 2021, HALO U-13, and Mountain Lacrosse U-13 all posted solid records on the weekend. Denver Elite ended up playing HALO in the finals and narrowly finished the weekend with a 4-3 win to bring their program another Adrenaline tournament championship.

In the Bayhawks 2021/2022 bracket RC U-13 Silver, U-13 Seattle Starz Navy Elite, and Denver Elite 2020 rounded out the top three. This Denver Elite squad played in another close championship game but ended up losing to a strong RC team 5-4 in the final. The oldest players in the tournament were in the Adrln 2019 bracket and those playoffs were sprinkled with familiar teams as well as some newcomers. Denver Elite was represented again by their 2019 Silver Team and RC was also seen in the semi-finals with their U-15 Silver squad. However, neither of those two would win out as ELC Team21 pulled together to beat RC in one semi-final and then Denver Elite by a score of 8-7 in the championship game.

Overall, it was a great weekend of lacrosse in Colorado Springs as Adrenaline wrapped up the younger Shootout. Expectations were high for one of the more anticipated events of the summer at this level and the outcome did not fail to meet those hopes. We would like to thank all of our amazing attendees for helping to complete yet another successful Adrenaline Shootout in Colorado Springs. Thank you to our sponsors 33PlaysGatorade for keeping our players properly hydrated, and KT Tape for offering free taping to all players all weekend long.

Four different club teams from three different states walked away champions at the end of the weekend! Just goes to show how evenly talented the western states are becoming and a true testament to the growth and depth of the game in non-traditional areas.
