tOM WEST

Five straight district titles. Five regional crowns. A state final berth. Tom West doesn’t just coach lacrosse at The Bolles School — he builds programs that win.

Named Director of Lacrosse and Varsity Boys’ Head Coach in October 2021, West has turned the Bulldogs into one of the state’s most consistent powerhouses, highlighted by a run to the 2023 state final. West is currently the most winning active boys’ coach in Florida with a 489-91 record going into the 2027 season.

He’s done it before. In 2008, West founded the Ponte Vedra High School program from scratch and turned the Sharks into a Florida empire — a 2019 state title, a 2016 runner-up finish, eight district titles, and five regional championships. That 2019 team went 24-1, ranked No. 2 in the South nationally, and was named the Florida Times-Union’s Team of the Decade. Fourteen of those players went on to play in college.

West’s fingerprints are all over Florida lacrosse. He founded Team Florida Lacrosse, co-founded the Florida Possums, Ponte Vedra Sand Gnats, Ponte Vedra Jaws, and now serves as our Director of South East Starz and Director of College Recruiting for the SES programs. He is also the current Head Coach for the US Virgin Islands U19 team. His past leadership stints include Epoch Lacrosse, Florida Crabs, Prospects Lacrosse Consulting, and Triple Crown Sports. A 2020 US FLORIDA Lacrosse Hall of Fame Inductee, West coached numerous high school, club, and college lacrosse programs. He led the NCAA Division II St Michaels Purple Knights (Vermont) to their best NE-10 finish in school history.
