The South East Starz are a National Travel Club Lacrosse program built for dedicated athletes who aspire to compete at the highest levels of the game. Bringing together top talent from across the region, our program provides elite coaching, high-level competition, and unmatched development opportunities designed to prepare players for success in premier tournaments, collegiate recruitment, and beyond. Tryout Information
We are excited to announce our inaugural tryout information for the 26/27 Season! Tryouts are open to ’27 – ’34 boys players in the South East. We strongly recommend attending one of the tryout options in person or players can submit film with a Coach’s recommendation.

FAQs
WHY PLAY ON SOUTH EAST STARZ?
Athletes will choose to play on SES to play with the best players, play against the best teams, and compete at top tournaments in the country. By bringing the West Coast Starz to the South East, they have set a very high standard with more NCAA commitments than any other club program in the country – which we intend to uphold in our region as well. Be on the lookout for our commits after year 1!
HOW ARE TEAMS SELECTED?
We have tryouts each summer between mid-July and mid-August. Athletes are invited for a select amount of trips based on their availability. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER FOR TRYOUTS.

WHERE DO OUR PLAYERS COME FROM?
We are a large Regional team. Our rosters will consist of mostly of athletes from Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
HOW DO YOU EVALUATE THE TRYOUTS?
SES is different from most local/regional tryouts where evaluators cross off the kids that aren’t up to par and keep everyone else. We anticipate hundreds of athletes trying out per grad year. Athletes will need to stand out in order to make a team. The most athletic, skilled and smartest players will make it.
DO YOU HAVE TO PLAY ON A CERTAIN CLUB IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO PLAY?
No. We are looking for the best players in the South East regardless of who they play with. Affiliated clubs are more involved because they will have representation on our coaching staff and have a better idea of what the teams are looking for. Affiliated programs also help us to de-conflict schedules and we will require players to stay with those clubs when there is a conflict.
CAN I PLAY WITH OTHER TEAMS?
You can and should play as much as you would like. We expect our players to make SES the priority but to continue staying with their local/regional clubs in order to get in regular practice and keep improving. #localfirst
WHAT IF I CANNOT ATTEND THE TRYOUTS?
Athletes can provide us with film and or a coach’s recommendation in order to be considered. They can then be invited to a training camp or tournament a their tryout.
ARE RETURNING PLAYERS GUARANTEED A ROSTER SPOT?
We are not looking to create completely new teams each year. Our coaches evaluate the current players in our system throughout the year. We use the tryouts to improve at various spots.
WHAT IS THE COST FOR THE YEAR?
High School (9th – 12th grade) is $3950 for the year which includes two training camps, four tournaments (two in fall and two in summer), IMLCA player’s profile, and player pack & uniform.
Middle School (5th – 8th grade) is $3650 for the year which includes two training camps, four tournaments (two in fall/winter and two in the summer), and player pack & uniform.
HOW DOES THE TEAM CONNECT THROUGHOUT THE YEAR?
We hold two training camps per year (September and May). We have team practices the night before each tournament. We hold a zoom meeting between tournaments to install team concepts, do film review, and cover mental performance skills.
We will offer satellite practices 2 – 3 times each season for players looking for more skill development. These will be held in a variety of locations around the South East. Info will be released after tryouts.
DO COACHES STAY WITH THE TEAMS EACH YEAR?
Typically, coaches will stay with the kids throughout Middle School (5th – 8th grade) and then High School (9th – 12th grade). This is subject to change based on the coach’s availability and team success.
DO YOU ALWAYS HAVE TWO TEAMS PER GRAD YEAR?
This is determined based on the success of the team, talent at tryouts, and athlete availability. If we believe we have 50 amazing players that can attend all trips, we will do two teams. If we do not feel like we have two competitive teams we will do a player pool with players being invited to select tournaments.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ORANGE AND THE NAVY TEAMS?
Orange is our top team but we aim to follow in the footsteps of West Coast Starz by having all our teams be highly competitive and have our college placement be top-tier. Stay tuned for our first commits in year 1!
WHAT PROCESS DOES SES PLAY IN THE RECRUITING PROCESS?
We have a full time recruiting director in Tom West who has 20+ years of experience placing athletes in colleges for lacrosse. Tom is a former NCAA college coach who has spent the past two decades as a Head Coach of two very successful high school lacrosse programs.
Once athletes reach high school, they will be set up with IMLCA Player Profiles and we will have zoom meetings to discuss the recruiting process and establish a path for the athletes. In addition, we will assist players in getting into premier showcases.
