Denver Elite
DE is one of the best regional teams in the country based in Denver, CO and is a training and feeder program for the West Coast Starz.
Train Local. Play National.
The Denver Elite field lacrosse program, powered by LXTC, is one of the top club associations in the country. Denver Elite is a regional team and feeder program for the West Coast Starz, the best national team in the country.
The Denver Elite experience is focused on athletic and skill development, personal growth, fun, and support in the college search and recruiting process. Both the youth and high school teams experience intense college-level practices and play in local and travel tournaments against top competition throughout North America. Playing on Denver Elite is one of the greatest experiences that a young athlete will have in his sports career.
Denver Elite is led by Trevor Tierney and Matt Brown. Trevor Tierney was a former two-time NCAA DI champion at Princeton University (’98 and ’01), a MLL champion (Baltimore Bayhawks ’05), and FIL world champion (Team USA ’02). Matt Brown was a former NCAA DI player at the University of Denver and played in both the MLL and NLL. Trevor and Matt worked as assistant coaches at the University of Denver between 2009 to 2015 and helped lead Denver to the first NCAA championship west of the Mississippi. Matt also serves as the current head coach at the University of Denver and led the team to a Final Four in his first year at the helm in 2022.
ADRLN Colorado Defense and Offense Training Sessions start in November with Jack DiBenedetto and Jack Tortolani.
Coach DiBenedetto is a former defenseman and coach at DU. Coach Tortolani is current offensive coordinator and former midfielder at DU. They are two of the best young coaches in the game!

Liam Buxman DE #41
Congratulations to DE 2027 Def, Liam Buxman on his recent commitment to Concordia University - Irvine! Liam brings size and strength in his close defense role. His length and feet allow him to consistently remain on hands and create turnovers, while maintaining proper position. Along with his communication skills, Liam’s IQ and off-ball prowess make him a valuable asset in any defensive scheme. We are proud of Liam, and looking forward to watching his career as an Eagle!
Congratulations to Andrew Neilson, DE 2027 Mid, for his recent commitment to Rollins College! Andrew is an intelligent and hyper-athletic ball carrier, who dodges with C.O.D and quickness, and plays with vision and toughness. His lacrosse IQ and ability to manipulate approaching defenders allow him to apply pressure to an opposing defense, acting as an offensive QB from the midfield position. With a relentless nose for the goal, Andrew’s ability to create havoc to opposing defenses off-ball with high IQ movement and cutting, create an extremely versatile offensive player. We are happy for Andrew as we look forward to watching his lacrosse journey as a Tar!

Policies
Attendance, Playing Time & Behavior
- DE practices and events are mandatory. Unexcused absences will lead to dismissal from the program.
- Playing time is NOT guaranteed at any level but the coaches will do their best to ensure that players all get on the field as much as possible.
- DE expects players and parents to always show good sportsmanship and to be good club representatives wherever they go. Poor player sportsmanship will result in disciplinary action and may lead to removal from the club. Parents, please watch games from the side of the field opposite the players and always set a good example for our boys. We expect you to be respectful towards players, coaches, officials and other parents at all times. Unsportsmanlike parent behavior may lead to player removal from the club. If you have a problem please contact your coach or the club administration at an appropriate time.
- The use of drugs and alcohol are strictly prohibited. If players are caught using either substance while under the supervision of the DE program, they will be removed from the club.
- If a player is dismissed for violating any of the behavior or attendance policies outlined above, no refunds will be issued.
Registration Fee Insurance
Absolutely no refunds will be provided for Denver Elite field team tryouts or team registrations under any circumstances, including injury, illness, or withdrawal. We strongly recommend that you purchase registration insurance during registration, and the option is built into our system.
Age Breakdown
Use the chart above to determine the appropriate youth Denver Elite team for which your son should try out. For players with June, July, or August birthdays, we recommend they continue to try out with their natural graduation-year team.
