He ultimately became the school’s all-time leading scorer with 202 goals and 290 points.
Following lacrosse, Bernhardt switched to football as a grad transfer quarterback at Ferris State, where he led the Bulldogs to an undefeated 14‑0 national championship season in 2021. After that season, he joined the NFL’s Atlanta Falcons as an undrafted free agent wide receiver, where he made the roster and scored a preseason touchdown before an injury-led retirement in 2023 . He then spent part of 2024 on the BC Lions’ practice squad in the CFL.
In June 2025, Bernhardt signed a two-year deal with the PLL’s Denver Outlaws, bringing his rarity as an elite two-sport athlete and his explosive speed to a stacked lineup. Aligned Event is a designation given to independently owned and operated events that have chosen to follow a set of operational and safety guidelines set forward by USA Lacrosse. These tournament guidelines are a set of best practices that cover six main areas of an event: USA Lacrosse membership & age verification, game format, venue, risk management, event administration, and certified officials. When these practices are adopted in their entirety, events create a more positive experience for participants while receiving insurance and marketing benefits from USA Lacrosse.
