This past weekend the Tinseltown Throwdown had a great turnout in beautiful Orange County, California. Over sixty teams drove in from all over the west to compete in the last tournament of the summer club season. Orange County Great Park with its pristine fields and convenient location, combined with incredible weather, proved to be an ideal venue for the weekend. These teams did not disappoint with great competition leading up to the championships on Sunday.

In the Elite division we saw LaxDawgs Brown faceoff against Wild Horse Red. Both teams found themselves undefeated heading into the championship on Sunday afternoon. It was a close game throughout with multiple lead changes until the LaxDawgs Brown squad managed to pull away at the end and finish with a 9-5 victory.

In the High School division we hosted two different brackets. In the Bayhawks bracket, Zip It and Rampage JV were both undefeated heading into their championship final. Rampage came away with a deciding 11-3 victory. The Rampage squad was a force to be reckoned with, scoring double-digit goals in all of their games. In the Cannons bracket we had another battle of undefeated teams when Team 12 SD A matched up against Alpha. Team 12 SD came away with it in the end with an 11-3 W.

The U15 division was our biggest division with two very competitive brackets. In the Machine bracket the top two teams came out to be Vegas Starz and RC Silver. RC proved to be the best with a commanding 12-4 victory. In the Rattlers bracket we had a very close defensive battle between 395 Starz Red and the surprise underdog team of the U13 RC Silver squad. In the end RC came out with it in a 4-3 victory. The RC program swept both middle school divisions and showed their dominance for years to come.

The U13 division was highlighted by a number of competitive teams, but only two teams were able to call themselves contenders for the final matchup. The championship game was a tight one between Leverage and Wild Horse Red. It was a true up and down game with a lot of play in between the lines but Wild Horse pulled ahead late to win 13-11.

For the young guns in the 2022/2023 division, the final two teams to faceoff were OC Crush against SoCal Black Knights. OC Crush pulled through for a big 14-5 win on Sunday afternoon, but their swagger was shown throughout the tournament with their chants and camaraderie. On Saturday we even put together a one-day event for the little guys of the U-9 division to get some action.

It was incredible to see six different club teams walk away with a division championship title, with RC notching two on the weekend!
