June 13th, 2015

The Platinum Cup saw an influx of college coaches early this morning as more flooded in to scout potential prospects from the top club teams in the nation. With over 100 set of collegiate eyes on the sidelines, the stakes were high for the individual players to not only showcase their skills, but also lead their respective teams to a division championship. Four classes represent the different divisions: 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019. When teams were not playing, it was incredible to see the support their fellow club players showed on the sidelines.

Seven different clubs went undefeated (3-0) in Day One to secure a top seed in tomorrow’s playoff games (*() denotes ranking in their respective division). The 2016 Mesa Fresh and Crabs 2019 attack both came out firing today, winning each of  their games with double digits on the board.

WCS 2016 Blue (1)

2016 Mesa Fresh (2)

MadLax 2017 (1)

Crabs 2018 (1)

Crabs 2019 (1)

LI Express 2019 (2)

Laxachusetts 2019 (3)

Team 91 2019 Orange (4)

The day ended in a highlight for WCS 2018 as they beat their long-time opponent, Tenacious Turtles, which is a team that we all know is not accustom to losing. WCS goalie Zio DeChesere (2017/ Michigan commit) came up huge to bring the team to an 8-4 win.

Tomorrow’s games will kick off with an early 3-way tie breaker Braveheat to determine the 8th, 9th, & 10th seeds for the 2018 division. WCS Blue, MadLax and Prime Time will compete for the 8th spot that will grant that team the last seed in the playoffs. It will be updated immediately following the pre-8:00 AM one on one battles.
